Allison Chinchar, a CNN and HLN meteorologist with CNN and HLN. She's a frequent guest in CNN's New Day Weekend and HLN's Weekend Express, as well CNN International. She was a local station meteorologist on the air in Atlanta, Nashville and Chattanooga prior to moving to CNN. She was a meteorologist for hurricanes and blizzards as well as flooding, wildfires, and won an Emmy for the coverage she provided of Dorian, a hurricane that struck the Bahamas. Dorian which struck the Bahamas in the year 2019. In April of 2011 she was a reporter for the Super Tornado Outbreak which saw 350 tornadoes strike the Southeastern United States within four days. More than 200 took place on April 27th, 2011. Given her background in environmental science, she's covered earthquakes, volcanoes and other natural catastrophes and climate change stories. Chinchar has a Bachelors of Science from the Department of Atmospheric Science. She graduated from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is also a part of the American Meteorological Society, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society, the National Weather Association, and the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology.
